Pico TTS

The Pico TTS integrationIntegrations connect and integrate Home Assistant with your devices, services, and more. [Learn more] uses Pico TTS library to read out text with natural sounding voices. Pico TTS is a powerful open-source engine that runs locally (cloudless) so it can work even without an internet connection.

Configuration

To add the Pico TTS service to your Home Assistant instance, use this My button:

Manual configuration steps

If the above My button doesn’t work, you can also perform the following steps manually:

  • Browse to your Home Assistant instance.

  • Go to Settings > Devices & services.

  • In the bottom right corner, select the Add Integration button.

  • From the list, select Pico TTS.

  • Follow the instructions on screen to complete the setup.

Language

The language to use. Supported languages are en-US, en-GB, de-DE, es-ES, fr-FR, and it-IT.

The Pico TTS integration provides the following entities.

Text-to-speech

To convert text to speech, you can use the Text-to-speech (TTS): Speak (tts.speak) actionAn action makes Home Assistant do something, for example, turn on a light, send a notification, or activate a scene. Removing the integration

This integration follows standard integration removal.

To remove an integration instance from Home Assistant

  1. Go to Settings > Devices & services and select the integration card.
  2. From the list of devices, select the integration instance you want to remove.
  3. Next to the entry, select the three dots menu. Then, select Delete.
